Carl A. Hartmann, 1715 Delmar street, died at 3:15 p.m. Wedensday at his home after an illness of several months.

He was born in Germany, July 20, 1865, came to the Des Moines county, when he was 14 years old, and farmed here for many years. He married Clara C. Dankwardt in Burlington, Sept. 8, 1889, He was a member of First Baptist church.

Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Bessie Hartmann, at home; a son, Russell Hartmann, Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Marie Kohrs, Burlington; a stepbrother and stepsister, Wilhelm Hartmann, and Anna Schroeder of Dana, Tex. One son and a daughter are dead.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Giles Funeral home. Rev. John Parker will officiate. Burial will be at Aspen Grove cemetery.
