Frances Hetrick

Frances E. "Polly" Hetrick, 87, of the Shokokon community near Carman, Ill., died at 7:59 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born June 1, 1923, in Carman, she was the daughter of Robert and Matilda Siens Stimpson. On June 6, 1950, she married Earman A. Hetrick in Burlington. He died May 20, 1999.

Mrs. Hetrick was a lifelong resident of Shokokon. She was a member and former custodian of Carman United Methodist Church, and member of Lomax-Carman Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include three sons, Kendall Hetrick of Lomax, Ill., William Hetrick of Carman and Larry Hetrick of Texas; one daughter, Emma Snyder of Burlington; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, one great-great-grandchild, two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, Ill., where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Hetrick will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Carman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Anita Munden officiating. Burial will be in Carman Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Lomax-Carman Senior Citizens and Carman United Methodist Church.
