Joseph Brown
Joseph L. Brown, 71, formerly of Burlington, died at Sacramento Memorial Hospital, Sacramento, Calif., Wednesday, May 6.
He was born in Des Moines County, June 19, 1898, the son of Joseph H. and Hannah Jane Mehaffy Brown, and married Edith Fern Goble, Aug. 18, 1920. She died April 27, 1955. A retired woodworker, Mr. Brown formerly worked for the Eastman Co., and the Northwestern Cabinet Co. He was a Methodist.
Surviving a son, Leonard E. Brown, Washington, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Barney Springsteen, Oakville, and Mrs. Doris Malloy, Sacramento, Calif.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, John Brown, Kingston.
Funeral: Committal at Aspen Grove cemetery with Prugh's Chapel; Saturday, 2 p.m.
