Mrs. W.H. Bailey Passes Away

Huron township Resident Succumbs at Daughter's Home, Funeral to be Wednesday

Mrs. Sarah Catherine Bailey, 70, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Walker, in Huron township yesterday. She had been a resident of Des Moines county for many years.

Mrs. bailey was born at Richmondale, Ross County, Ohio, Feb. 15, 1862, the daughter of Garrett and Eva Hinson. Her mother died when she was ten months old. In 1879 she moved with the family ot Des Moines county. She was married to William Henry Bailey in Mercer county, Ill. and lived there until 1893 when the family came back to Des Moines county. The remainder of her life was spent in this county.

Mrs. Bailey was the mother of four children, two of whom died in infancy. The survivng daughters are Hazel Lenore, wife of Austin Walker, and Eva Marie, wife of Charles Walker. Both live in Des Moines county.

Other surviving relatives are one brother, Charles Hinson of Burlington; six granddaughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Holsteen, Gladys, Kathryn Jean, Ethel and Marjorie Walker. Mr. Bailey preceded his wife in death, passing away July 8, 1920.

A short service at the home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 will precede the funeral services at the Kingston Methodist Church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. George G. Hunt, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Dalby* cemetery. The body is at the Charles Walker home.
