Mrs. Elsie M. Hudgel, 69, 649 McKinley, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 26, in Memorial hospital.
She was born in Burlington on Nov. 8, 1903, the daughter of Chris and Mathilda Swobe Bendix, and married Harry Hudgel in 1927.
Mrs. Hudgel was an employee of the Des Moines county treasurer's office for 23 years. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Christian Women and was the treasurer of the Burlington Humane Society.
Surviving: The husband; a brother, Raymond Bendix, Burlington; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Lunning Chapel, Rev. Walter Lack; Memorial Park cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Bethany Lutheran Church.
