Barbara Johnson

Barbara Lucill Johnson, 52, of Burlington, died 10:21 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 1999 at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born Sept. 19, 1946, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Raymond F. and Margaret L. Lawlor Edwards.

Mrs. Johnson was a laborer for U.S. Borax Soap Co. and was a nurse's aide at the Klein Unit of Burlington Medical Center.

She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Charleen Hand of Burlington; one son, Tyrone E. Johnson of Burlington; four grandchildren; her mother of Burlington; and two brothers, David Edwards and Gary Edwards, both of Carman, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Open visitation will begin after 8 a.m. Wednesday in Prugh's Chapel. There will be no family visitation.

A graveside committal service for Mrs. Johnson will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Presley officiating.

A memorial has been established.
