Rebecca Starkey Breen

Mrs. Rebecca Starkey Breen, 75, of 5513 Virdell Court, died in Klein Unit of Burlington Medical Center at 2:10 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 4.

Born Feb. 19, 1911, in Dallas City, Ill., she was the daughter of George and Ora Ash Evans. She married Ralph Starkey, Sept. 19, 1931, at Monmouth, Ill. He died Oct. 19, 1970. She then married Harold T. Breen, Sept. 10, 1982, in Burlington.

Mrs. Breen was a retired aide at St. Francis Continuation Care Center. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, AARP, RSVP, Railroad Veterans Auxiliary, and Iowa Hawkeye Natives, of which she was past president.

Surviving are her husband, Harold; two sons, Gary, Grinnell, ang George, Burlington; four daughters, Marilyn DeWitt, Bourbonnais, Ill., Sally Person, Torch Lake,Mich., Janice Lindle, Wichita, Kan. and Sherry Reynoso, Ft. Madison; stepson and stepdaughter, Patrick Breen, Salina, Kan., and Rosemary Height, Oakville; three brothers, Clifford Evans, Niota, Ill., Claude Bennett, Lubbock, Texas, and William Bennett, Burlington; two sisters, Bertha Lock, Huntsville,Texas, and Darlene Ruby, Brighton; and 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel.

Services for Mrs. Breen will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Michael Philips officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
