William Klein

William Thomas Klein, 25, of 218 Broadway St., West Burlington, died Jan. 1. 1990, in a fire at the Ryan Fun & Fitness Center, West Burlington.

Born Dec. 14, 1964, in Burlington, he was the son of William Theodore and Patricia Mary Hageman Klein. He married Patricia McKinnon, June 20, 1986, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Burlington.

He was a 1983 graduate of West Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College. He was a vender repairman for Burlington Pepsi Cola for three years, worked at Hagerla market for seven years, and was a volunteer for the West Burlington Fire Department. He was a member of Teamsters No. 218, RSES, Iowa Fireman Association and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Heidi and Allison, both at home; two brothers, Robert Klein of Burlington and Richard Klein of West Burlington; five sisters, Anne Aney, of Burlington, Patricia Klein of Lake City, Minn., Catherine Platz if Hamilton, Ill., Jean Bohlen of Quincy, Ill., and Mary Bloomberg of Grandview, Mo.

The Christian wake service will be 7 p.m. Thursday followed by visitation at Lunning Chapel.

The services for Mr. Klein will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic with the Rev. Louis Mulligan officiating. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Danville.

Memorials have been established for the West Burlington Fire Department and the education of his daughters.
