Edward Senn
Edward Charles Senn, 87, of Burlington, died at 7:06 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at the Blair House Nursing & Rehab in Burlington.

Born May 9, 1920, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles Christian and Hattie Beryl Black Senn. On March 2, 1943, he married DeEtta Alice Lietsch in West Burlington.

Mr. Senn was a tool and die maker at Sheaffer Pen Corp. in Fort Madison for 35 years. He worked 11 years at Murray Iron Works in Burlington. He retired in 1985. He was in the Naval Reserves. He was a member of the Labor Temple and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Burlington Aerie 150. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and a semi-pro baseball player in his younger years. He enjoyed flower gardening, golfing and card playing.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael Senn of Denver, Colo., Richard Senn of Austin, Texas, Thomas Senn of Coralville and Alan Senn of Burlington; five daughters, Kathie Erickson, Susan Moss, and Mary Lee Matteson, all of Burlington, Marcia Green of Rockdale, Texas, and Ruth Ann Martin of Bonita Springs, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 14 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Stanley Senn of Portland, Ore., Paul Senn of Galesburg, Ill., Don Senn and Gary Senn both of East Moline, Ill.; two sisters, Mildred Gustafson of Silvis, Ill., and Della Mitts of East Moline; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington. There will be no family visitation.

The funeral for Mr. Senn will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev Patrick J. Hilgendorf officiating. The body will be cremated after the funeral. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in West Burlington at a later date.

Memorials have been established for Burlington Notre Dame Inc. and the American Cancer Society.
