Willis Bozarth

Willis Walker Bozarth, 75, of New London, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1995, at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Nov. 3, 1919, in Mount Union, he was the son of Leland Earl and Laura Walker Bozarth. He married Pauline Broecker on April 8, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. She died March 2, 1992.

Mr. Bozarth was a 1938 graduates of Mount Union High School and U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He worked at the glove factory in New London, was a general contractor on may local projects, and managed the Gustafson Dairy and delivered milk in New London. He was retired as a maintenance worker for the city of New London.

He attended the New London Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion, a social member of the New London VFW, and an honorary member of the New London Fire Department.

Survivors include one daughter, Paula Turner-Coates of New London; one son, Willis William Bozarth of Cupertino, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Bozarth of Yarmouth; and six sisters, Bernice Peterson of Mount Pleasant, Bernadine Larson of Winfield, Ann Levins of Burlington; Garnet Coberly of New London; Bonita Richenberger of Plano, Texas, and Joyce Bozarth of Wapello.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers.

Friends may call after noon Friday at Elliot Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Bozarth will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliot Chapel, with the Rev. Rod Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union, with full military rites by VFW Post 7641.

A memorial has been established to the New London Rescue Unit.
