Merle Patterson
Merle Patterson, 82, of LaHarpe, Ill., died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Oct. 30, 1925, in LaHarpe, she was the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle McEndree Rathbun. On June 17, 1943, she married Neal Patterson in Kahoka, Mo.

She was a 1943 graduate of LaHarpe High School. She was a member of Friendship Circle Club and LaHarpe Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband of LaHarpe; two daughters, Carol Boecker of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cindy Kienol of LaHarpe; three granddaughters; and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.

The funeral for Mrs. Patterson will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Banks and Beals Funeral Home with the Rev. Darren Beachy officiating. Burial will be in LaHarpe Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
