Clyde Mehaffy

Clyde Mehaffy, 78, Oak Ridge, died at 5:12 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Continuation Care and Nursing Home.

Born June 29, 1899, at Mediapolis, he was the son of Sam and Grace Miller Mehaffy. He married Louise Keller at Biggsville, Ill., Dec. 15, 1960.

He was a retired Hotel Burlington chef and manager of the former Oliva Bowling Alley. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge and United Commercial Travelers.

Survivors: The wife; daughter, Mrs. Sally Inghram, Danville; two sons, Darwin, Berwyn, Ill. and Ronald, Danville; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Decker, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Irma Lundeen, Mrs. Lottie Young, and Mrs. Zelda Van Nice, all of Burlington; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Lunning chapel, Rev. Duncan Lowe, Memorial Park cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Society have been established.
