Joint services scheduled for crash victims

Funeral for the three women killed in a highway accident 7 miles north of Burlington Friday evening, April 12, will be held at Prugh's Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Donald R. Turkelson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.

The three were Mrs. Zella M. Brown, 78 of 402 Oak, Muscatine; Mrs. Dorothy L. Sutcliffe, 46, Oakville; and Mrs. Donna Lorraine Zippe, 26, Oakville, Rt.1.

Mrs. Brown was born in Galesburg,Ill., Dec. 23, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Brown. She married Vernon W. Brown at Iowa City, June 8, 1961. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Railroad Veterans auxiliary.

Surviving: the husband; son, Neil Zollars,Casselbury,Fla.; daughter Mrs. Ruth Gall, West Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Upton, Mrs. Beulah Rewerts, and Mrs. Garnet Stohler, all of Burlington; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sutcliffe, daughter of Mrs. Brown and Charles Schmidt, was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Burlington. She was a member of United Methodist Church and the Oakville Womens Guild. She married Wayne Sutcliffe at Burlington, June 3, 1943.

Survivng: The husband; son Edward Sutcliffe, three daughters, Mrs. Dana Morris, West Burlington; Mrs. Darlene Coleman, Burlington, Burlington and Dawn Sutcliffe, at home; brother,Neil Zollars and half-sister, Mrs. Ruth Gall; and nine grandchildren.

Mrs. Zippe was born April 13, 1947, in Burlington, the daughter of Wayne E. Sutcliffe and Dorothy Schmidt Sutcliffe, who also perished in the accident.

She married Glenn Zippe at Oakville, Jan. 15, 1966,Mrs. Zippe was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving the husband; her father; son and daughter, Todd and Gina Zippe, both at home. and sisters, Dana Morris, Darlene Coleman and Dawn Sutcliffe.
