Mae Grupe

Mae Marie Grupe, 95, of Burlington, died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Burlington Care Center.

Born Feb. 21, 1908, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Henry and Emma Westerbeck Grupe.

Miss Grupe ran her own plant nursery from her home at Flint Creek.

She built her own home at Flint Creek and the cupboards in it. She enjoyed embroidery work.

Survivors include one sister, Norma Gilbreath of Gays, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will begin after noon today at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to the time of service Wednesday.

The funeral for Miss Grupe will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, with Ministers Jack Henry and Richard Davis officiating. Burial will be in Old Stone Cemetery in Sperry.

A memorial has been established for Hope Haven.
