Carol-Lee Martin

Carol-Lee Joy Martin, 56, of Middletown, died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born June 24, 1950, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Arthur David and Pearl Marie Fehse Andrew. On Sept. 2, 1967, she married Earl E. Martin in Burlington.

She was a 1968 graduate of Burlington High School. She worked in retail at Pets Plus, Jacks, Foodsaver, Festival Foods and Big Lots. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed bargain shopping, yard sales, camping and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Tori Mijanto of Middletown, Jami Martin and Wendy Howard, both of Burlington; two grandchildren; one sister, Merry-Jo Gay Putnam of Elkland, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, one son and one brother.

As per the request of Mrs. Martin, her body has been cremated.

Friends may call from noon until 5 p.m. today at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, one hour prior to the services, at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home.

The memorial service for Mrs. Martin will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry K. Olson officiating.
