William Fehse

William "Bill" August Fehse, 93, of Burlington, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Aug. 17, 1906, in Burlington, he was the son of Arthur W. and Mary Margaret Braun Fehse. On Sept. 12, 1931, he married Grace L. Warth in Monmouth, Ill.

Mr. Fehse worked in the maintenance department at J.I. Case Co. for 26 years, retiring in 1968.

He was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ and the Senior Citizens Thursday Group.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Nancy Fariss of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 18 grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Pearl Andrews and Ida May Lucas, both of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one great-granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Fehse will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. David Rogula officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
