Vivian E. Brookhiser, 88, of Iowa Falls, formerly of Denmark and FortMadi son, died at 3:20 a .m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls.
Born May 28, 1915, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Walter R. and Cordilla Ruth Kling insmith Gittings. She first married John Sams. He died in 1947. On Oct. 11, 1949, she married Raymond L. Brookhiser in Fort Madison. He died Jan. 31, 1987.
Mrs. Brookhiser was a homemaker. She was a member of the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Jane Sanders of Unionville, Mo.,and several nieces and nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at KingLynk Funeral Homein Fort Madison, where the family will be present.
The funeral for Mrs. Brookhiser will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at KingLynk Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Moore officiating. Burial will be in Clay poole Cemetery in Wever.
A memorial has been established.
