Phyllis Swedenburg

Phyllis E. Swedenburg, 61, of Indianola, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1993, at her home.

Born May 4, 1931, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Howard E. and Frances Smith. She married Ron Swedenburg on Dec. 22, 1951, at Mount Union United Methodist Church.

She moved from Burlington to Indianola in 1969. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star No. 338 in Indianola and First Assembly of God Church. She worked at Wal-Mart, Indianola.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Jeff of Arvada, Colo.; two daughters, Lori Connelly and Charisse Ozella, both is Des Moines; a brother, H. Noble Smith of Mason City; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Peterson Funeral Home, Indianola.

The funeral for Mrs. Swedenburg will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Church, Indianola. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington.

A memorial has been established for the Iowa Heart Fund.
