Dorothy Ralston

Dorothy Mae Ralston, 84, of Brooklyn, Iowa, formerly of Mount Union, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brooklyn.

Born March 9, 1918, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of Harry and Clara Mae Robertson Hamilton. She married Victor Forest Ralston on Oct. 31, 1943, in Mount Union. He died Jan. 22, 1982.

Mrs. Ralston attended Mount Union High School. She was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith and loved music. She played for patients at the care center until three months ago and taught music lessons. She and her brothers, Lester and William, had played in a band together.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Wahneetah Hamilton of Winfield, nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The graveside service for Mrs. Ralston will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Cemetery in Mount Union, with Pastor Robert Hary officiating. A memorial has been established.
