John W. Wykert

Oakville-John William Wykert, 69, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday; July 28, in Burlington Memorial hospital after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 14, 1905, near Columbus Junction, the son of Samuel and Susanna Goss Wykert. He married Merna Mellinger, Oct. 1933. She died in 1956. Mr. Wykert was a farmer.

Surviving: Daughters, Mrs. Sue Carithers, Marshalltown, Mrs. Jackie Samuels, Wapello, Mrs. Vicki Hook, Oakville; sisters, Ethyle Swafford, Steubenville, Ohio, Mrs. Marjorie Smith, Burlington; brothers Ernest, Oakville, Howard, Columbus Junction; six grandchildren.

Funeral: 2p.m. Tuesday, Dudgeon - McCulley, Rev. George Snyder, Wapello Cemetery.
