Virginia Spitznogle

Virginia Lea "Ginny" Spitznogle, 68, of Morning Sun and recently of Florida, died Friday, June 1, 2007, in Morning Sun.

Born May 7, 1939, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Cecil and Mary Hamilton Spitznogle.

Miss Spitznogle was a quality control inspector at Champion and then at IAAP before working for the Department of Defense for several years. She graduated from Wapello High School in 1957. She was a member of the Methodist Church and several RV clubs. She enjoyed RVing and traveling.

Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Foor and Dian Maine, both of Wapello and Morning Sun; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers in infancy.

The memorial service for Miss Spitznogle will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun, with the Revs. Sue-Ellen Sherman and Scott Smith officiating. Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery, rural Wapello.

A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun and the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service.

Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun is in charge of arrangements.
