Harold (Doc) Kemp

Harold Albert(Doc)Kemp, 47, of Dallas City, Ill., died in Burlington Memorial hospital at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 10.

Mr. Kemp had been employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for 21 years.

He was the son of Cecil and Gertrude Wolford Kemp, and was born Feb. 1, 1925, at Decora, Ill.

He earned the Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Mr. Kemp married Norma June McKeown at Burlington on Sept. 20, 1947

He was of the United Methodist faith and was a member of the Eagles lodge.

Surviving: the wife; son, James Marion Kemp, Bushnell, Ill.; three daughters: Mrs. Beverly Lillard, Dallas City, and Barbara and Becky Kemp, both at home; brother and sister, Donald Dean Kemp and Mrs. Doris Ferguson, both of Stronghurst, Ill., and one grandchild.

Funeral: Giles - Elliot Chapel at 1:30 Saturday; Rev. Vernon M. Sorenson; Stronghurst Cemetery.
