Ralph YoderRalph Merle Yoder, 79, of Oakville, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born June 30, 1923, in Rock Island County, Ill., he was the son of Joel and Nancy Plank Yoder. On Sept. 12, 1948, he married Donna Janell Mehaffy in Burlington. She died Feb. 9, 2003.
Mr. Yoder was a lifetime farmer.
He attended Huron High School and was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Brian Yoder of Burlington; two daughters, Janell Heater of Wapello and Gail Heater of Hays, Kan.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rosemary Yoder of Santa Barbara, Calif.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one in infancy, and one infant sister.
Visitation will be from noon to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Yoder will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, with the Rev. Beth Briggs of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Kingston United Methodist Church, 4-H Foundation and American Cancer Society.
