Helen Louise Joy Runquist, 76, of Anna, Ill., formerly of Carthage, Ill., died at 9:58 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

Born July 29, 1924, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Clifford E. and Viola Mikeehan Joy. She married Roy Runquist on Nov. 22, 1967, in Clinton. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Runquist was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5117 in Carthage, the Carthage Senior Center and Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

She enjoyed fishing, bingo, sewing and puzzles.

Survivors include three sons, Ron D. Garmoe of Marino Valley, Calif., and Dennis Garmoe and Roger Jennings, both of Hillsboro; two daughters, Diane Caldwell of Burlington and Connie Derossett of Wolf Lake, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Van Winkle and Doris Cain, both of Burlington.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Neiser-Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Runquist will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Harris Cemetery, Dallas City, Ill.
