DYERSVILLE, Iowa -- August H. "Gus" Joester, 89, of Dyersville, died Thursday morning, May 6, 1993, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville.

Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 3 pm Friday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7:30 pm.

Mr. Joester worked for Amoco Oil Co. for 36 years until his retirement in 1962.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1903, in Dyersville, son of August and Anna (Tauke) Joester. He married Hilda R. Krapfl on Nov. 23, 1926, in New Vienna; she died on July 13, 1974.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Maiers of Holy Cross and Mrs. Al Kerper of Dubuque; a son, James, of Dyersville; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one grandson.
