Carol Lee Jasper, 69, of Dyersville, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Mercy

Medical Center, Dubuque. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Friends may continue to call from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate and Deacon Dan Hoeger will assist.

Carol was born April 9, 1945, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Linus "Lee" and Valeria (Krapfl) Mensen. She married Loyd Jasper on Sept. 7, 1964, in Dyersville. Carol enjoyed helping her husband, Loyd with his custom toys and was very proud of his work. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and visiting with the lunch ladies. Carol especially loved traveling to attend her grandchildren's events and family celebrations and gatherings. She was selfless and always put the interests and needs of her family ahead of her own.

Survivors include her husband of almost 50 years, Loyd; four children, Duane (Anne), Glen (Kris), Kevin (Courtney), all of

Cedar Rapids, and Janet (Jamie) Hogan of Lake Villa, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, Alexander, Nathaniel, Logan, Oren, Whitney, Erica, Hanna, Zachary, Lucille, Ryan, Tyler and Travis; one brother, Dale (Wilma) Mensen of Dyersville, stepmother, Jean Mensen of Dyersville; stepsiblings, Judy (Bill) Walke, Joan Hough, Mary (John) Sievertsen, Diane (Tim) Dingbaum, Dave(Ingrid) Goerdt and Ken (Beth) Goerdt; and brother-in-law, Kenneth (Margie) Jasper of Manchester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Emil and Monica Jasper; a sister-in-law, Gladys (Tony) Hoeger; and a stepbrother, Gary Goerdt.
