SUMMON COMES TO CHARLES T. BARR

Charles Thomas Barr, well known citizen of Manchester, passed away at his home on East Fayette street early this (Wednesday) morning, February 9th, 1921, following an illness of a week. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church on Friday, February 11th, at 2 o'clock P. M., and interment will be made in Oakland cemetery. Rev. S. R. Beatty will have charge of the services and he will be assisted by Elder M. W. Akers.

Mr. Barr, a son of William and Ann Barr, was born i Honey Creek township, Delaware County, April 8th, 1866. He spent his life on the farm, excepting the past seven years, during which time he has resided in this city. As a boy he attended the North Manchester school, and then took up the task of farm life. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Hamblin, of this city on Christmas day, in the years 1890, and during the years he and his wife have walked life's pathway together, a singularly devoted couple. Seven years ago Mr. and Mrs. Barr left the farm and moved to Manchester, Only a few weeks ago Mr. and Mrs. Bar completed a beautiful new home and were comfortably settled there to enjoy life together, when Mr. Barr was stricken with a fatal illness.

Mr. Barr leaves to mourn his death the devoted wife, one brother, D. W. Barr, of Honey Creek township, one sister, Mrs. C. A. Hitchcock, of Crockston, Minnesota, and numerous other relatives. One child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Barr in 1899, the baby dying in infancy.

Mr. Barr was a man of many amiable traits of character. His first concern in life was to provide for those who were linked to him by the tender ties of home. He was charitable and kind, and was slow to speak ill of any man, and in his dealings with his fellow men he exemplified the teachings of the Golden Rule, He was a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge, and was honored and respected by the members of the order.

Mrs. Barr had the sympathy of many friends in the great sorrow that has come to her because of the death of her beloved companion.
