William Pentony died last Saturday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Lucinda McEnany, in Adams Township. The deceased was one of the oldest residents of Manchester, having first taken up his home in 1865. During the last few years and since the death of his wife he has from time to time resided with his daughter, at whose home he died. Mr. Pentony was a good man and citizen, and departs from a life well spent and full of usefulness.
Mr. Pentony was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1822. He came to this country about the age of twenty-one and soon after was married in Brooklyn, New York. He was the father of six children, two of whom, together with his wife, have preceded him in death. The four surviving children are J. J. Pentony of this city, Mrs. Mary Malone, of Sioux City, Ia., Mrs. Lucinda McEnany of Adams Township and Miss Ella Collins of San Marcial, Mexico.
The funeral services were held in the Catholic Church at this place on Monday morning. Father Hanley of Monti officiating.
