MRS. GEORGE WASSINK
Mrs. George Wassink died at her home on the Geo. Miller farm northeast of Manchester on March 13th, 1919, after an illness of nearly three years. Funeral services were held at the family home Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Rev. S. R. Beatty, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, conducting the services. The remains were then interred in the Earlville cemetery.

Emily Gibbs was born November 10th, 1873, at Wedmore, Somerset, England. She came to America with her parents in 1883. She was united in marriage with Mr. George Wassink on February 21st, 1895. She is survived by the husband, two children - Ruby Mae, and Lyle Ernest, at home; three sisters, Mrs. H. L. Ryan and Mrs. J. Elgenberger, of Manchester; and Mrs. Anna Kronfelt, of Dubuque; and four brothers, Henry Gibbs of Strawberry Point; Albert Gibbs of Dyersville, Edward Gibbs of Verndale, Minnesota; and Frank Gibbs of Manchester.

Mrs. Wassink was a true wife and mother and her passing has caused profound sorrow in the home and among the large circle of her friends. During the weary years of her illness she bore her suffering with true Christian fortitude. Death to her came as a gracious release form suffering, and her spirit was permitted to enter the realms where sorrow and pain are unknown.

Mr. Wassink and his children have the profound sympathy of their friends in the sorrow that has come to them.
