On Wednesday, July 18th, death came to Henry Hartke, Sr., releasing him from a long period of ill health due to creeping paralysis. For the past few weeks of his life he was completely helpless and he suffered intensely. Mr. Hartke was born in Lonnerbecke, Hanover, Germany, March 23, 1842, and came to America as a young man. His aged wife survives him, also an adopted daughter, Mrs. William Krans. The funeral services were conducted from the Zion Church Friday afternoon, Rev. Panzlua officiating. Interment was made in Zion Cemetery.
