SLY, WHITE, JONES, ACERS

The sudden death of Luther Sly, which was mentioned in these columns last week, caused deep and profound sorrow throughout the community and county. The funeral services were held from the home northeast of this city on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. J. F. Moore, pastor of the First Congregational church of this city.

The deceased was born in Henrietta, Ohio, in 1849. He came to Delaware county when a boy with his parents and always had resided at the family home until the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary H. Acers, daughter of the late George Acers, on December 25, 1874. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Harry and Frank, both living at or near the home place; two sisters, Mrs. Julia E. White of Montclair, New Jersey, and M. S. Jones of this city, and one brother, Luman Sly of Boulder, Montana.

Mr. Sly was a member of Manchester Lodge No. 165 A.F.& A.M. of the Orient Chapter, O.E.S., master of the Jones Mill Grange, the M.B.A. and the First Congregational church of this city.
