Word was received in Manchester this morning that Mr. P. S. French, for many years a resident of Manchester, passes away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mattie Woodcock, at Humboldt, Iowa, and that the remains would reach Manchester Friday morning for internment in Oakdale Cemetery. The independent Order of Odd Fellows will have charge of the services at the grave.

Mr. French was born at Cortland County, New York, January 23rd, 1837 and came to Delaware County in 1855, and for many years followed the occupation of mechanic. Mr. French was a familiar figure in this place for many years, and had many friends among the older people of this community who will learn of his passing with sadness.
