of Delaware County, Ill nearly
Two Years

John Wesley Robinson, one of the most successful and widely known farmers of Delaware County passed away at the hospital in Iowa City early Friday morning, September 23rd, 1921. Mr. Robinson had been in discouraging condition for nearly two years, suffering from pernicious anemia. About three weeks ago he went to Iowa City and entered the hospital in the hope that the treatment might prove beneficial. A complication pf bronchial pneumonia at the last caused Mr. Robinson’s death.Funeral services were held at Silver Creek Church Monday morning. Rev. J. C. Warton, pastor of the Methodist Church’s at Masonville and Silver Creek – had charge of the services. Internment was made in the Silver Creek Cemetery. The funeral services were attended by hundreds of the old time neighbors and friends of Mr. Robinson.
John Wesley Robinson was born near Silver Creek, August 1st, 1867, and was a son of Thomas and Elizabeth Robinson, and was in his 54th year at the time of his death. He grew to young manhood on the home farm and received his education at Epworth Seminary and Upper Iowa University at Fayette.
He was united in marriage with Miss Alice Falconer, who, with the four children, Willard, Ethel, Clifford and Carmine – survives him. Besides his wife and four children there survives four sisters, Mrs. Myra Carrothers, at Eddingburg, Texas; Mrs. Cassie Carrothers, of Masonville; Mrs. Ella Moles, of Central City; and Miss M. B. Robinson, of Manchester. One brother, Thomas Robinson, of Madison, Wisconsin, also survives him.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Silver Creek and one of its consistent supporters. He was a successful farmer and helpful to his neighbors. He was a kind and devoted husband and father, and his death brings profound sorrow to his wife and children.
