Sudden Death of Lot Gibbs
The sudden death of Lot Gibbs occurred near his home at Earlville on Monday morning, November 8th, 1909. Mr. Gibbs health for some time past had not been of the best but he was not confined to his home. His lifeless body was found in a pasture near his farm home on Monday morning, the cause of his death being acute pneumonia.
Lot Gibbs was born in Wedmore, Sometshire, England, on December 4, 1838. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Parker on March 20, 1860 in Wedmore England. To this union were born eight children, four sons and four daughters all of which survive their father. They came to America in June 1883, locating in Delaware county, which has ever since been their home.
The funeral services were held from the Congregational church at Earlville on Thursday forenoon, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. E. Pauley.
