Blanche E. Richter, 97, of Manchester, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Marietta’s Place, Manchester, Iowa.
Visitation will be 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Earlville United Parish, Earlville, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jill Mack officiating. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
Blanche Eleanor Richter was born August 11, 1919, the daughter of Charles and Effie (Bishop) Carpenter, near Earlville, Iowa.
Blanche was married to Raymond Richter on December 13, 1941, at Kahoka, Missouri.
The couple lived and worked at Buck Creek until 1945 when they moved to the Carpenter farm north of Earlville. In 1968, they moved into Earlville.
Blanche was active with Earlville United Parish and the Earlville Community Club. She was an avid walker and enjoyed bingo, crocheting, word search puzzles, putting together puzzles, and bridge club.
Survivors include her children, Jim (Theresa) Richter of Earlville, and Ruth (Louis) Benn of Manchester; grandchildren, Joe (Sara) Richter of Earlville, Teri Krumm of Cedar Rapids, and Traci (Brian) Roling of Dubuque; grandson-in-law, Mark Nosbisch of Prairieburg; great-grandchildren, Alex, Kyle, and Luke Richter, Logan Nosbisch, Morgan Krumm, Brandon Pohlman, Bryce, Rebecca, Holly and Paige Roling; and great-great-granddaughter, Natalie Krumm.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; grandson, Douglas Lee Pohlman; granddaughter, Jeanne Nosbisch, and four sisters, Florence, Marion, Lillian, and Mildred.
