MUSCATINE — Mary Lou Fear, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at Lutheran Living in Muscatine.

There will be a private graveside service held at Fairview Cemetery in Earlville, Iowa at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Mary was born on April 3, 1924, in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of Clyde D. and Hazel L. Michael Rankin. She married Gordon D. Fear on April 3, 1946, in Fort Smith, and then moved to Iowa.

Mary was a stay-at-home mother raising her four children. In 1970, she worked as an ATS computer operator for Stanley Consultants, a career she thoroughly enjoyed.

She and her husband retired in 1980 and moved to Bella Vista, Ark., where she lived until 1998, when she returned to Muscatine to be closer to her children.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children, Rebecca McQueen, of Loveland, Colo., Brad (Jan) Fear, of Muscatine, Brett (Jody) Fear, of Moline, and Beth (Terry) Ziegenhorn of Muscatine; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, JoAnn (Paul) Sites of Guthrie, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon, a son, Jeffrey Fear, a grandson, Mathew Titus and a brother, Clyde Rankin Jr.
