David A. Becker 1942-2013

David A. Becker, 70, of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dwayne Thoman officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

He was born on June 11, 1942, in Dubuque, son of Joseph and Margaret (Lippert) Becker. He married Virginia "Ginnie" Langkamp on Jan. 25, 1964, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He had been employed in the maintenance department at Medical Associates Clinic for the past 15 years and loved his job.

He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish for 45 years and a member of Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation.

David was a very dedicated hunter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Ginnie; two sons, Jeff (friend, Nichole) Becker, of Hayfield, Minn., and Kraig (friend, Suzette) of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Jean (Greg) Mallinger, of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Kelly (Lonnie) Curry, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his mother, Margaret Becker, of Dubuque; six grandchildren, Courtney, Maggie, Brittany, Tony, Stephanie and Mikayla; a brother, Tom (Lois) Becker, of Dubuque; a sister, Kathy (Merlin) Dalsing, of Kieler, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and his father- and-mother-in-law, John and Germaine Langkamp.

A David A. Becker Memorial has been established.
