Muriel L. Glanz, 81, of Earlville, died Sunday evening, Oct. 3, 2004, in the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Delaware, by the Rev. Dale Critchley. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Earlville and for one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Muriel was born the daughter of Clarence C. and Margaret M. (Sulzner) Orcutt on May 19, 1923, on her parents' farm east of Delhi. Muriel spent her early years in the Buck Creek area. Her parents later moved to the Oneida area where she attended the Oneida school. Muriel graduated from Earlville High School in 1941. She then worked for the National T Grocery chain in Manchester. On April 6, 19

45, Muriel was united in marriage to Ronald L. Glanz in Earlville. The couple engaged in farming until moving to Earlville in 1985. Muriel was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware, where she taught Sunday school and was a LWML member. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Muriel is survived by her husband, Ronald of Earlville; three sons, Garlyn (Kathy) Glanz of Earlville, Ron (Lorie) Glanz and Kevin (Sandy) Glanz, both of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Andrew and Sara, Matthew and Jenna and Kelley, Jessie and Jamie; a brother, Lyle (Ilene) Orcutt of Earlville; a sister, Margaret Baxter-Corll of Fountain Valley, Calif.; and three sisters-in-law, Edith Orcutt of Manchester, Willa Orcutt of Anamosa and Norma Orcutt-Baum of Staunton, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Margaret Orcutt; a son, Bennett Glanz; and three brothers, Calvin, Elmer and Raymond Orcutt.
