EARLVILLE, Iowa - Dora L. Hawker, 93, of Earlville, died Saturday morning, Dec. 26, 1998, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Earlville, with the Rev. Jean Rabary officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Clifton Funeral Home, Earlville.

Mrs. Hawker was a great homemaker and a wonderful cook.

She was born on July 27, 1905, in Delaware County, daughter of Charles and Wanda (Voelker) Haynes.

She married Herman Hawker in December 1924. They farmed for many years near Ryan and the Bailey Ford areas and in later years near Earlville, eventually moving into Earlville.

Her greatest loves were her church and family, especially her grandchildren, for whom she made many cookies over the years.

Surviving are two daughters, Dolores (Wilmer) Robinson, of Earlville, and Norma Jean (Elmer) Orcutt, of Texas; a son, LaMoine (Patricia) Hawker, of Dubuque; nine grandchildren, Richard (Debbie) Robinson, of Maine, Duane (Judy) Robinson and Doug (Joette) Orcutt, of Earlville, Gloria (Owen) Rentschler, of Arizona, Cheryl (Bob) Tudor, Cathy (Charlie) Harlan, Brad (Val) Orcutt and Randy (D.J.) Hawker, of California, and Craig (Diana) Hawker, of Waterloo; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Harry Haynes; and three sisters, Olive Wilson, Nettie Corll and Alta DeLancey.
