EARLVILLE, Iowa - Catherine L. Hook, 84, of Earlville, died Monday evening, Dec. 8, 2003, at Regional Medical Center, Manchester, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Earlville United Parish, with the Rev. Mark Gustafson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Clifton Funeral Home, Earlville. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

She was born on April 19, 1919, in Dubuque, daughter of Joseph and Iva (Skemp) Williams. She married Herbert Hook on Jan. 11, 1940, in Manchester; he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Delores (LeVern) Chapman and Judy Mast, both of Manchester; 13 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Barbara Williams, of Dubuque; a brother, Donald Williams, of Des Moines; and two sisters-in-law, Thelma Kryer, of Beloit, Wis., and Cletene Williams, of Lowden, Tenn.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
