Dr. Harry W. Rosenberg, 79, of 193 Braybrook SE, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in University Hospitals, Iowa City, following a lingering illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; three cousins; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his adoring pets.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janice (C. Robert) Gray.

Harry was born March 28, 1929, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Werner and Flossie (Beeby) Rosenberg. He attended Clinton High School, the University of Iowa, and graduated from the College of Dentistry in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. On Feb. 26, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sharon Manwiller at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.

Harry was a dentist in general dentistry in Cedar Rapids for 30 years and an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa Family Dentistry department for 20 years until 1999. He was also a professional magician with the Blackstone Magic Troupe, a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians since 1954 and the local Mombo Ring Magic Club of Cedar Rapids.

Harry was a life member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Academy of Operative Dentistry and Woodbury Gold Foil Study Club. He belonged to the PSI Omega fraternity.

He was a former member of the Cedar Rapids Jaycees, Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Exchange Club which later became the X-Exchange Club.

Harry loved his family and his pets.

Memorials may be made in Harry's memory to the K-9 Cola off leash dog park or to the charity of choice.
