PETERSBURG, Iowa -- Armella A. Klostermann, 89, of Heritage Manor, formerly of Dyersville and Petersburg, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 5, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, with the Rev. Phillip Kruse presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a wake service at 2 p.m.

She was born on March 7, 1920, in Petersburg, daughter of Andrew and Theresa (Koopman) Bruggemann. She received her education in the Ss. Peter and Paul School in Petersburg.
She married Lawrence G. Klostermann on Jan. 21, 1941, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg; he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1976.

She was a former member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish, Petersburg, and St. Francis Xavier Parish, Dyersville.

Surviving are nine children, Kathy (Ronald) Klein and Bonnie Klostermann, of both of Dyersville, JoAnn (Lee) Cairy, of Madison, Wis., Mary (Bill) Donovan and Margie Klostermann, both of Dubuque, Bob (Karen) Klostermann, of Waunakee, Wis., Elaine (Jim) Leonard, of Madison, Carl Klostermann, of Dyersville, and Jane (Peter) Cobb, of Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Matt Klein, Mike (Marie) Klein, Ann (Matt) Bonert, David Klein (friend, Chelssi), Nathan (Hillary) Klostermann, Abbie (Brian) Moilien and Shannon Donovan; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Olivia and Grace Klein and Emily and Andrew Bonert; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Bockenstedt, Ardel Klostermann and Florine Klostermann.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, A.J. Bruggemann and Leander Bruggemann; and a sister, Hyacinth Kruse.
