R.H. Wendling Earlville, Ia. --- R.H. Wendling, age 74, died at St. Francis Hospital at Waterloo early Saturday afternoon, after several weeks of serious illness. He was taken to the hospital a week ago Saturday. For a number of years, Mr. Wendling was engaged in farming and for the past 18 years he had been mail carrier from the ICRR depot here to the post office.
He is survived by his wife, and seven daughters: Mrs. Frank Dettbarn and Mrs. Frank Pierce, Earlville, Mrs. Lyman Bort of Manchester, Mrs. Ed Haas of Central City, Mrs. George Runkle at Waterloo, Mrs. James Haas and Mrs. Herbert Dettbarn at Hopkinton. A number of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. A brother, Charles Wendling, at Minneapolis, and one sister, Mrs. Augusta Binning, at Greeley, also survive.
