Thomas Wiley, Sr.
Greeley, Ia--Special: Funeral services for Thomas Wiley, Sr., 85, were held here Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. James P. Hamill, pastor, officiating.

Mr. Wiley died Saturday at the home of his son, Martin at Littleport, following a long illness.

He was born Dec. 25, 1854 at LaSalle, Ill., and in 1862 he accompanied his parents to Littleport in a covered wagon. He was married at Ossian to Kathryn Kane, who preceded him in death along with their two children. He then went to Colorado where he worked in the gold fields and following his return to this vicinity, he was married to Mary Ellen McManus at Ossian. They farmed in this vicinity for several years, later retiring and moving to Greeley. His wife died in 1924.

Surviving are eight children: Charles and Mrs. Margaret Tinker, both of Greeley; Leo of Forest Par, Ill., Martin of Littleport, Sister Bruno of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Irene Elbe and Mrs. Helen Cahalan, both of Detroit; and Thomas of Winona, Minn.
