HOPKINTON, Iowa - Maxine Zangerle, 57, of Hopkinton, died after a long illness Friday evening, Dec. 13, 1996, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Hopkinton, with burial in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Hopkinton, where there will be a parish vigil service at 5 p.m.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; six children, Charles, of Hopkinton, Mary, of Dennison, Lorraine, of Tampa, Fla., Billy (Nina), of Springville, Edward, of Oxford, N.C., and David, of Boone; two grandchildren, Christina and Ashley; her mother, Bernadette Smith, of Dyersville; five sisters, Janaan Kraus, of Monticello, Kay Heitz, of Farley, Betty Ries, of Earlville, Mary Ellen Waite, of Cedar Rapids, and Shirley Riniker, of East Dubuque, Ill.; four brothers, Kenneth Smith, of Delhi, John Smith, of Ryan, and Gary and Mark Smith, both of Manchester.

She was preceded in death by her father in the fall of 1968.
