Alice E. Loop, 92, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in her home after a lengthy illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Grace United Methodist Church, Lamont, by the Rev. Alecia Williams. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Friday, Hopkinton Cemetery, Hopkinton. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fawcett Funeral Home, Lamont, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Survivors include her husband, Fay; four daughters, Mary (Richard) Clemen of Manchester, Nancy (Richard) Nielsen of Ryan, Susan (Bob) Crouch of Cedar Rapids and Jane (Richard) Griswold of Winthrop; 20 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Loop; and sister-in-law, Leone Lesser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Cleveland McVay and Lydia Emmaline Chapman McVay; great-granddaughter, Amanda McDonald; a sister, Florence Britt; and a brother, Albert McVay.

Alice was born June 3, 1908, in Hopkinton, Iowa. She graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1926 and Lennox College, Hopkinton, in 1928. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lamont; the Lamont Garden Club and Order of Eastern Star Lamont Chapter 472.

Following the committal service, the family will greet friends at Butch's Restaurant in Hopkinton.
