DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Luella J. "Babe" (Jacobsmeyer) Reiff, 76, of Oak Park, Ill., formerly of Forest Park, Ill., and Dyersville, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Woodbine Nursing Home, Oak Park.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a wake service at 3:30 p.m.

Mrs. Reiff worked as a manicurist in the Forest Park area until her retirement.

She was born on May 7, 1928, in New Vienna, daughter of Joseph and Adeline (Schlichte) Jacobsmeyer. She married Julien Reiff on July 2, 1949, in Forest Park; he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1990.

She received her education at St. Boniface School in New Vienna.

She was a member of St. Bernadine's Parish in Forest Park.

Surviving are three siblings, David (Mary) Jacobsmeyer, of New Vienna, Betty Steffen, of Bernard, and Doris Zangerle, of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Anna Mae Reiff, of Farley; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alice "Fern" Patitucci; five brothers-in-law, Ben Steffen, Ben Patitucci, C.A. "Chic" Zangerle, Robert Reiff and Urban Besler; and a sister-in-law, Margie Besler.

A Luella J. Reiff Memorial Fund has been established.
