DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Mary C. Rausch, 88, of Dubuque, formerly of Dyersville, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Oak Park Place, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, with the Rev. Dale Rausch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a vigil service at 2 p.m.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1924, in New Vienna, daughter of Albin and Helena (Bruggemann) Koopmann. She married Aloysius F. Rausch on May 1, 1947, in New Vienna; he died Nov. 20, 1990.

Mary was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Basilica Parish and a former member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She frequently volunteered at church and school with numerous and varied activities. She also was a member of the Dyersville Area Historical Society and frequently volunteered at the Dyer House.

Her hobbies included bowling, quilting, cards, bingo and reading.

Surviving are her children, Helen (Charlie) Ostwinkle and Jim (Colleen) Rausch, of Dyersville, Linda Bader, of Albany, Ga., Diane (Mike) Weigman and Sandra (Jim) Evans, of Dubuque, and Robert (Kris), of Dyersville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom she thoroughly enjoyed; a sister, Hildegarde Lueck, of Dyersville; and sisters-in-law, Cecelia Hoeger, of Dyersville, and Mary Koopmann, of Garnavillo.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Michael J. Bader; siblings, Sr. Helen Koopmann, F.S.P.A., Rose, Edmund, Raymond, Herb, Cletus and Alfred "Fritz" Koopmann, Alvina Deutmeyer and Margaret Rausch; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
