DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Joseph J. Rausch, 91, of Dyersville, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Oak Crest Manor Nursing Home, Dyersville.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

Mr. Rausch was born on July 4, 1911, in Luxemburg, son of John and Katherine (Pottebaum) Rausch.

He married Myra Scherbring on July 14, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. Joe and Myra farmed in the Petersburg area, and later he was an equipment operator for Delaware County. He also ran the Corner Tap in Petersburg for 10 years.

Surviving are his wife, Myra, of Dyersville; four sons, Donald (Wilma), of Dyersville, Fred (Nancy), of Highland Park, Ill., Rick (Gwenn), of Chicago, and Randy, of Dubuque; two daughters, Deb Rausch (Ron Streitman), of Minnetonka, Minn., and Bev Rausch, of Maplewood, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a stepgreat-grandchild; a brother, Merlin (Joanne) Rausch, of Guttenberg; four sisters, Armella Hoffman, of Masonville, Emma Walz, of Monona, Theresa Lahey, of McGregor, and Adelaide Bildstein of Dyersville; and a sister-in-law, Marie Rausch, of Ennoble Manor, Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Edmund, Peter, Jack and Francis Rausch; four sisters, Catherine Hoffmann, Marie Lucas, Anna Mae Fischer and Magdeline Rausch.
