DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Agnes M. Rahe, 96, of Dyersville, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center, Monticello, after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Phil Kruse officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a Catholic Daughters of America rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

She was born on April 14, 1912, on the family farm west of Dyersville, daughter of Arnold and Katherine (Lueck) Tauke. She married Gerald Rahe on Jan. 18, 1938, in Dyersville; he preceded her in death in 1970. Together they farmed on the family farm until his death.

Agnes was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Rose.

Surviving are her children, Karen (Leon) Funke and Ken (Shirley) Rahe, both of Dyersville, and Marilyn (Robert) Burlage, of Monticello; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Tony (Rosemary) Rahe and Eileen Hermsen.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Jill Rahe; two brothers, Albert and Greg Tauke; four sisters, Petronilla "Nell" Wegmann, Rose Hoefer, Hilda Fangman and Mildred White; and a grandson-in-law, Todd Koelker.
